JANUARY ARTIST SHOWCASE: ALLIE ELLIS
Join us Friday January 10th as we host our first Artist Showcase of 2020! Our featured artist for the month is Allie Ellis.
When asking Allie how she got into art it came to light that there wasn’t a short answer. She has always had art in her life but not just drawing or painting. Allie can play 6 instruments, builds jewelry, has worked as a professional photographer and is now creating collage art to add to the list. Having lived everywhere from Upstate New York, Spain, Chicago and lots of other places calling Dayton home is a new venture for her. Working at the Xenia Library is what brought her to our neighborhood where she finds herself binding books and doing freelance photography in her free time.
This showcase of collages shows her love for 50’s and 60’s pop art while dialing in on a “minimalism not maximism” point of view. Combining meat and feminism is just one great example of the creative mind that is known as Allie Ellis. Her art is available for purchase and will be on display for the entire month. So come on in Friday for art and a beer as we celebrate Allie and her work here at Branch and Bone!

Brewed in Dec of 2018 with Josh, the brew includes Indiana 6-row barley and Ohio raw wheat that was turbid mashed, boiled for 5 hours with aged hops, and fermented in french oak wine barrels with our house mixed cultures. The resulting beer is complex and incredibly drinkable. We hope you enjoy this historic beer! $9.99/500ml bottle

Read moreNOVEMBER ARTIST SHOWCASE: PATRICK WOEHL
Join us Friday November 1st as we introduce our featured artist for the month, Patrick Woehl.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Just as his parents before him, Patrick was born here in Dayton. Englewood to be exact. He grew up mimicking his older brother as they would sit at the kitchen table to doodle and draw. As they grew older his brother slowly lost interest…but Pat did not. The intrigue of comics and graphic novels took over while still submerging himself in painting and drawing.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now Patrick finds himself teaching art to our youth at Greenville Elementary School. Kindergarten-4th grade. While never dropping a pencil or brush he has grown as an artist while also never forgetting the family that raised and inspired him. You will see these inspirations in this month’s showcase while he dives deep into his Irish heritage using animals from the Celtic Zodiac.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
With each unique piece there is a similar flow. Bringing together a great animalistic vibe from the heart! His art will be on display and prints will be available for purchase all month long. So come have a drink and experience the night while we celebrate Patrick and his art!
